The most common questions from athletes and families considering TruScout. If you don't see yours here, the contact page is one click away.
What does TruScout actually do?+
We are a basketball recruiting and exposure service. We evaluate athletes, build coach-ready profiles and highlight direction, and use direct relationships with college programs to put serious players in front of the right staffs.
Are you a software platform or an agency?+
A service. We use technology to organize the work, but the value is the people — scouts, recruiting strategists, and the relationships behind every introduction.
Do you only work with basketball?+
While basketball is our primary focus, TruScout Sports Group offers recruiting support and exposure services for prospective high school and collegiate athletes across all sports. Our process is built around helping serious athletes tell their story, showcase their ability, and connect with the right opportunities.
When should we start?+
Most athletes start their freshman year of high school.
How long does evaluation take?+
A first evaluation typically takes 1–2 business days after you submit film and basic info. From there we build your plan and outreach calendar.
Do you guarantee a scholarship?+
No reputable service does. We guarantee honest evaluation, real outreach, and a structured plan. Outcomes still depend on the work the athlete puts in.
How do I get evaluated?+
Submit your information and film through Get Evaluated. A TruScout team member reviews every submission and follows up within 1–2 business days.
What does the process look like after I submit?+
We review your film and information, build out a coach-ready profile, and outline the next steps for outreach and exposure based on your situation.
How do I reach the team with a question?+
The contact page is one click away — or sign in through Player Access or Coach Access and your TruScout team can help directly.
Do you help with NCAA eligibility?+
Yes. We walk families through NCAA Eligibility Center registration, academic requirements, and amateurism — and flag any timing concerns early.
Do you work with parents?+
Always. Recruiting is a family decision and we communicate with parents at every step.
What about NIL and the transfer portal?+
We help athletes understand the rules and the realistic landscape — both during high school recruiting and if a player ends up in the portal.
